The face of homelessness is changing here in Monmouth County.

More and more people in their 20s are homeless.
More and more women with children are escaping domestic abuse.
More and more people with mental illness are living on the streets.

 

More and more families describe themselves as “living on the edge” of poverty and homelessness.

Nearly 50% of people have been homeless less than 6 months.

28% of Monmouth County’s homeless are in Asbury Park.

On any given night, 101 children are homeless with their parents.

Over 50% reported struggling with
substance abuse and/or mental illness.
